Heart Failure is a chronic and progressive condition. As the condition can also have exacerbations it is often the reason for an ambulance call out. The diagnosis can be challenging however if the clinician is thorough in their history taking and performs appropriate clinical examinations many differential diagnosis can be ruled out. Once the diagnosis is made the appropriate clinical interventions and medication options can be delivered to improve an acute episode and potentially allow a patient to remain at home.
